Devois des Agneaux white is the mirror image of its terroir, an unmistakable Languedoc wine. Rich and open, it is nonetheless delightfully fresh with a certain finesse. The aim is to produce the perfect balance between fruit, freshness and oak to produce a distinguished, elegant wine.
Harvested in the early morning, the grapes are taken straight to the winery where they are pressed and the juices fermented at low temperatures so that the wine reflects their aromas to the full.
Matured in oak barrels, the wines develop aromatic complexity and a lightly spicy character, without masking the natural aromas of the Roussanne and Marsanne grapes.
Eye: Pale gold wine with green tint.
Nose: The nose is redolent of white-fleshed fruits, with floral and vanilla notes.
Palate: In the mouth, it is finely balanced – both rounded and lively – ending on gentle notes of fruit and vanilla.
It is a perfect match for fish in sauce, shellfish and white meats. Drink now, or lay it down over the next eight years.
The grapes that make up this wine are grown on white clay soil which is richer and cooler than the hard limestone terroir of the red Devois des Agneaux and ideal to enhance the aromas of these white grape varieties. Thanks to the strong sunshine and cool sea breezes, they gain in concentration and finesse as they ripen.
